Job Description

Church Parenting Team Member

Summer of 2011

 SUMMARY: The role of this multi-generational team is to help new churches get established in the San Diego area. The starting of new churches is the most effective way to reach new people for Christ. Members of this team will enjoy the opportunity to help LifeBridge achieve its mission and see people come to Jesus through new churches.     

A.    QUALIFICATIONS

  1. A follower of Christ at LifeBridge who is actively walking down the G-4 pathway.
  2. Willingness to learn about planting new churches & parenting daughter churches.
  3. An interest in working with a team to exchange ideas, make plans and promote church planting with other people attending LifeBridge.
  4. Willing to work with other multi-generational team members. 
  5. Endorses LBC’s mission, vision, values and statement of faith.

B.    RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Meet every other month (bi-monthly) or as needed as a team to assess future opportunities to support three church plants currently launching in San Diego:
    • The Wave Church led by Jason/Angelina Hardy & Clay/Candy Stokes in Carmel Valley.
    • Ignite Church led by Dave/Jolene Dechape in Poway.
    • Ten27 Church led by Paul/Melanie Bernard in Temecula.
  2. Travel bi-monthly (non-meeting months) to attend one of the above church plants worship services to provide support, assess needs and bring along others at LifeBridge to participate.
  3. Twice a year become part of a “surge” event that serves on site at a daughter church.
  4. Monitor and encourage “LifeBridge Partners” to stay in touch with Church planting couples/families who attended the Assessment Center in January.
  5. Attend a two hour training workshop “Top Three Parent Church Mistakes” led by Dan Maxton/Paul Armstrong.
  6. Manage a $5,000 budget line item directed to help new church plants.
  7. Determine when a new church plant is to receive a $5,000 gift from LifeBridge.

C.    RELATIONSHIPS

  1. Reports to Elder Paul Armstrong and Missions Pastor, Tom Trotter
  2. Meets bi-monthly with other team members.
  3. Coordinates with LBC staff for scheduling, making announcements, etc.
