Find Us :: Leadership Directory :: Aaron Simms
Aaron was born and raised in Chelmsford, MA, a town about 30 minutes northwest of Boston. It took 5 years of studying computer science and then mechanical engineering at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) for Aaron to realize that, although interesting, engineering was not his strong suit. Not having a clear educational path to follow, Aaron decided to move to CA in 1987. After about 3 months he found a full-time job at the company where he would meet his future wife, Terri. Aaron and Terri worked at the Orange County facility of the company. In 1992 Aaron transferred to the San Diego facility of the same company. Aaron and Terri were married after 8 years of dating. Aaron says, “Sometimes I’m a slow learner!
Aaron and Terri don’t have any children, but they have had several dogs over the years. Their current “child” is named Mooni (her original name was Moonstruck when she found us at the Rancho Coastal Humane Society).
Aaron came to faith through the persistence of a coworker who kept inviting him to Bible studies. Aaron said, “It felt as if I could no longer deny that I needed God in my life. It was time to make a commitment!”
Currently Aaron is a Technical Writer that writes business requirements for Software Engineers. Aaron serves the Lord as a Deacon, usher, and AWANA games director here at LifeBridge Church. You will often find Aaron jumping in to help wherever needed.
Although Aaron considers himself a “homebody,” he enjoys traveling. Aaron’s favorite travel destinations are Switzerland, Waterton-Glacier National Park and Jackson Hole, WY. When not traveling, he likes to dine at nice restaurants. He likes to read political thrillers and inspirational books. Aaron’s other favorite pastimes include volleyball and gardening.
One thing you might not know about Aaron is that he hopes to some day to get the nerve to parachute out of an airplane.
