Acts: Beginnings – Sacrifice for the Sake of the Church

Sermon Questions for Reflection – Read Acts 20:17-38

  1. What is your response to the way Paul served the church?  What do you take away from his personal example? Read 1 Thess. 2:7-8.  How does this passage compare to what you learn from Acts 20?
  2. How can you apply the example/instruction of verses 22-24 to your own life?  Read Rev. 2:4-5. How did this once vibrant church end up abandoning their ‘first love’ of God?  What role of leading people astray do ‘wolves’ play in the church? How have you seen this happen in your lifetime?
  3. Paul had an extremely high work ethic and motivation to see everyone know Jesus.  Read Ezek. 33:1-6. What is important for everyone to know about their own personal responsibility when it comes to their eternal destiny and spiritual walk?
  4. What should our response be toward the men and women who are shepherding us and our families?  How can we pray for them today?
